Practical information

The school takes place at the main (Alameda) campus of Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), about 5 Km from the Lisbon airport. The surroundings are quite urban, with many hotels, restaurants, transportation options and cultural sites around.

You can reach the main campus of Instituto Superior Técnico from the airport by metro (a 15-minute ride): take the red line and exit at Saldanha towards Av. Duque de Ávila and enter IST by climbing the stairs from R. Alves Redol or exit at Alameda and walk uphill towards the IST main entrance (see the red markers on the map below). If you take a taxi from the airport, make sure you give the exact name or address of your destination. A taxi ride to IST (or to the hotels listed below) should not cost more than 10€.

At IST you are less than 10 minutes away from downtown Lisbon. To go downtown take a metro from Saldanha or Alameda stations and exit at Rossio or Baixa/Chiado.

Venue

The lectures will be held at the Amphitheatre Abreu Faro in the Complexo Interdisciplinar of IST and the problem solving sessions in room P4.35 of the Mathematics Building (see the red markers inside the IST campus on the map below).

Accommodation

We will make reservations (in shared double rooms) at  Residencial Fonte Luminosa (★★) for the students eligible for financial aid. We kindly ask the other participants to book their own lodging. See below for suggestions of hotels close to IST.

Located by the Campo Pequeno bullring and metro station at a 10-minute walking distance from IST.

Located across the street from the north-west corner of IST campus.

Located close to the Roma metro station at a 15-minute walk from IST.

Located in the Avenidas Novas close to the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum at a 20-minute walk from IST.
